 Using Bernoulli's theorem

P_1-P_2=rac{1}{2}{ho}(v_1^2-v_2^2)+ho gH

Since both the cross sections are open to atmosphere, P_1=P_2

Using equation of continuity

A_1v_1=A_2v_2

substituting it,

v_1^2=rac{2gA_2^2H}{A_1^2-A_2^2}

     = rac{gH}{4}

Intitially the liq is at rest,

v_1^2-0=2aH

Rightarrow a= rac{g}{8}
