Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Optics -> what is the relation between magnifying power and resolving power? -> Go to message
This Post 2 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 1 votes )   [?]

Magnification refers to how big the object appears. the higher the magnification, the bigger the object will look. Resolution refers to how clear the object looks to your eyes. The better the resolution, the clearer and more detailed the object will look.

also resolution is the minimum distance apart that two objects can appear as separate items
magnification is how many times bigger the image is when compared with the original object

i think that every book that you study with interest is not only a good but an excellent book.so don't go through loads of  books against your interest as studying the best book but with lack of interest will never help you crack any exam.so chose any book which suits your level of interest and go thorugh it deeply. Best Of Luck!

A series LCR circuit has R = 5ohm, C = 20μF, L = 1H and E0=30V. (a) At what angularfrequency ωd will the current amplitude have its maximum value? (b) What is this maximumvalue? (c) At what two angular frequencies ωd1 and ωd2will the current amplitude is half thismaximum value? (d) What is the fractional half width [ = (ωd1-ωd2)/ ωd] of the resonance curvefor this circuit?
