Actualy optical rotation is because of the dipole moment of the molecule.

  • A concavo-convex lens has an index of refraction 1.5 and the radii of curvature of its surfaces are 10cm and 20cm. The concave surface is upward and it is filled with an oil of refractive index 1.60. The focal length of the oil-glass combination is?

A)3/100cm.     B)1/40cm.     C)18.18cm.    D)1.818cm.

But I am getng 2 products;Because of the resonance stabilisation of  the anion formed frm propanone

CH3=C(CH3)-O-C(CH3)=CH2 --------- -ve charge is on oxygen

 CH3-C(CH3)=CH-C(CH2)=O ----------- -ve charge is on carbon

But the 1st product is not mentioned in any books, Is it possible 2 have such a compd in aldol condensation ?

pls reply

Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Mechanics -> A small hole is made at the bottom of the symmetrical jar as shown In the figure a liquid -> Go to message
This Post 0 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 0 votes )   [?]

Can we explain mathematically like this?

Efflex velocity (v) prop   sqrt(y)

v = k * sqrt(y)

dVol/dt = dy/dt    *   PI   *  x^2 = Area of hole * velocity(v)   ............. (.'.Continuity equation of flow)

It is given that rate of descension is independent of the level of liquid in the jar

ie.   dy/dt = Constant =k1

So dVol/dt  = k1 * PI * x^2 =  k * Area of hole * sqrt(y)

                     So K x^2 = sqrt(y)    squaring both sides

                                 y   =  K * x^4

Rate me if it is correct

Yes, always against force in linear motion or torque in rotatory motion.
