STATEMENT 1:

A cylinder fitted with a movable piston contains a certain amount of liquid in equilibrium with its vapour. The temperature of the system is kept constant. If the volume of the vapour is decreased by moving the piston inwards, the vapour pressure will remain unchanged

STATEMENT 2:

Vapour in equilibrium with its liquid, at a constant temperature does not obey Boyle's Law.

Plz solve ! RATES ASSURED!!!!!!!!!!! also plz. explain!!!!!!!!!!

By moving the Piston you are just breaking the equilibirium between vapour and liquid.....so obviously there will be change in vapour pressure........and i don't remember the statement 2.....whether it is correct or wrong.....but first one is false.

Impossible becomes possible only if u r awesome :)
