It is tedious and involves higher mathematics which is out of scope of JEE.

If you are interested check this :

This one is quite different from the one given by Bipin sir,

source : my school notes

 = A sin [2 /] .x

 - probability of finding an electron at a point in the space

A- amplitude

X - position.

The wave will complete a phase for 2 = 360

Hence periodicity of the wave function is [2 /]

 = A sin [2 /] .x

double derative, d2/dx2  = -4 (/)2  . A sin [2 /] .x

=> d2/dx2  = -4 (/)2

2 = -4 (.p/)2

T= p2/2m

=> d2/dx2   = -8  2 mT

but T= (E-V)

=> d2/dx 2  + 8.m.(/h)2 (E-V) = 0

solving for y and z

d2/dx2 + d2/dy2  + d2/dz2 +  8.m.(/h)2 (E-V)=0
