symmetry means lesser energy.

if a system has lesser energy then it is more stable.

like in the filling up of electrons in the subshells, symmetry is having exactly half filled or fully filled subshells.

yes , this is bcoz. while symmetrically filling the atoms / groups around a central atom/ion , the energy is lowered much more in com parison to asymmetrical distribution
