-Can anyone plz tell me clearly the cases when to use /20
or /0
for eg in the below question :
A large conducting plane has a surface charge density of 10^-4 C/m^2
.Find the electrostatic energy stored in a cubical voulme of edge 1cm.
which one to use?
and why??

sigma / epsilon is used when a thick block (that has some thickness) is given and sigma / 2 epsilon is used when a plane sheet is given (which has negligible thickness.

Here a plane conducting surface is given so u need to use sigma / 2 epsilon.

If it is given a large thick conducting plane then use sigma / epsilon.
