Calculate the concentrations of [Ag+] , [Br-] , [Cl-] , [Ag(NH3)2]+ , NH4 + ion and hydroxide ion in a solution wch results frm shaking excess AgCl and AgBr wid 0.02M ammonia solution . Assume that no monoammine complex is formed. given : ksp of AgCl = 1 x 10^-10 , AgBr = 5 x 10^-13 , NH3 = 1.8 x 10^-5 and kf of [Ag(NH3)2]+ = 1 x 10^8.

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH) is more soluble in water than butanol (CH3CH2CH2CH2OH) because: - ethanol is completely ionized.
- the longer hydrocarbon chain makes butanol more nonpolar than ethanol.
- the longer hydrocarbon chain makes butanol more polar than ethanol.
- there is hydrogen bonding between ethanol and water but none between butanol and water.
- ethanol forms a dimer and butanol does not.

Apurv is right Looking at answers before solving a question defeats the purpose of solving it.Remember purpose of solving a problem is not simply to get the answer but to develop your thinking ability

OK NOW THIS IS EASY. 2 MOLES OF ACETIC ACID AND 1 MOLE OF ETHANOL ARE HEATED IN A SEALED TUBE AT 100 CELCIUS. CALCULATE THE PERCENTAGE COMPOSITION IN MOLE PERCENTAGE OF THE REACTION MIXTURE AT EQUILIBRIUM. THE EQUILIBRIUM CONSTANT OF THE REACTION K AT THIS TEMPERATURE IS 4. WAT IS THE MOLE PERCENTAGE OF ESTER FORMED IF THE SAME REACTION WAS CARRIED OUT IN PRESENCE OF WATER?
